About

About HantaDash

A signal-based view on hantavirus activity. Informational, transparent, never authoritative.

How HantaDash works

Step 1

Aggregate

WHO RSS, ECDC news feed, Outbreak News Today, ProMED archives and 12 regional Google News feeds — continuously fetched and deduplicated.

Step 2

Curate

Multilingual classifier identifies kind (local case / imported / policy-only). Country detector drops mis-attributed signals. Source tier system grades credibility.

Step 3

Inform

Live map, weekly digest, real-time signal alerts — all in one place.

What you see on the map

HantaDash combines three independent data layers:

  • Endemic regionsAreas where hantavirus is known to circulate based on long-term epidemiology.
  • Historical casesReported case counts per region. Circle size scales with case count.
  • Active alertsFresh outbreak signals from official health bulletins and curated news.

Sources

  • WHO Disease Outbreak News — official global outbreak bulletins.
  • ECDC — European surveillance and risk assessments.
  • PAHO — Latin America case reports.
  • CDC NNDSS — weekly hantavirus reports across US states.
  • ProMED-mail — community-curated outbreak posts.
  • Google News + Outbreak News Today — global media signals, deduplicated and labeled with source.

Every item links back to its primary source. We prefer incomplete transparency over false precision: when data is sparse, we show that openly instead of hiding it.

What HantaDash is not

  • Not medical advice. For symptoms, consult a doctor.
  • Not an official health authority. For official guidance, consult WHO and your local health authorities.
  • Not a case confirmation system. The signals shown here are early indications in the reporting pipeline.

Limitations

Hantavirus is a sparse disease (~150-300 cases/year globally). No public API provides real-time confirmed case counts. We surface signals — not patient counts — and clearly label confidence with our source tier system.

Who maintains this project

HantaDash is built and maintained by an independent team. We work on transparent, signal-based intelligence tools. For feedback and corrections, email info@hantadash.com or use the contact page.
